RAMBLING THOUGHTS, THINKING OBSERVATIONS –
*Stephen Hawkings (1942-2018): Try as I might, I was never able to finish “A Brief History of Time”, the 1988 book by Hawkins. With his passing recently, I am reminded that there are special individuals that walk amongst us. Stricken with ALS in his 20’s, Hawkins chose a scholarly life and never looked back; refusing to let his disability restrain his curiosity and his pursuit of living in the moment. I can’t say I will personally miss him, because I never knew him, but I will ponder his tenacity and triumph over challenges that to most of us would find unsurmountable. He proved they are not. He was a warrior and not a victim of circumstances.
I think I just talked myself into trying “A Brief History of Time” again; this time choosing an audio book format.
