In a couple of earlier postings, I looked at the time frames of the present (now) and the past (history ) and the role, as I see it, with thou Mayest. The future is a bit different, but the same approach to implementing timsel is not.  By implementing personal anticipatory decisions, many choices are often predetermined.  For me, such committed reminders/decisions are made and then stored in a mental file. For example – refusing to laugh at racist jokes, not taking part in petty gossip, *to absorb and taking time for in-the- moment reflections, etc.

*I was enjoying a summer bike ride last week, and noticed several people (walkers and bikers) staring into the sky. Most glanced for a few seconds and moved on.  When I looked upward I was immediately smitten by the clouds. The old me would have merely glanced, the timsel me spent several minutes absorbing the grandeur of the moment.

I’ve looked at life from both sides now

From win and lose and still somehow,

Its life’s illusions I recall

I really don’t know life at all

  1. I love this dad.
Such a simple reminder to appreciate nature-even in the sky. When I saw the title of your posting, I immediately thought of the Judy Colin’s song Clouds. I was pleased to see we both made that connection!
Thank you for the inspiring photos and reminders to stop and admire the clouds…
