*When we talk about settling the world’s problems,
we’re barking up the wrong tree.
The world is perfect. It is a mess.
We are not going to change it.
Our job is to straighten out our own lives.
*I think of this Joseph Campbell quote when I try to make sense of today’s world. History reminds us that today’s challenges are pretty much the same as the past, the differences being that consequences of actions have multiplied.
I accept Campbell’s words as a reminder. I also believe choices help “to straighten out our own lives.”
